Au Petit Salut (Dempsey Hill), French Cuisine, Singapore

We chose the set lunch menu since we both didn't feel like having a heavy meal at that time, and the price is awesome! SGD 38++ means around SGD 50 pp for a 3 course lunch. Very good value indeed.

The variety of selection is pretty satisfactory. Dear hubby ordered Salmon trout tartare for the starter, followed by 150 days grainfed bavette with shallots and garlic confit, then finished the lunch off with lemon tart.

Mine was the duck liver terrine with homemade brioche, lamb ratatouille (both terrine and ratatoulle are out of the set lunch menu already) and I forgot what the dessert was since I mostly gulped hubby's lemon tart.

Salmon tartare is our favorite European appetizer. The weather in Singapore is always hot and humid all year long, plus it took us quite a walk to get to the restaurant's main entrance, so we both agree that something light and fresh, plus a bit soury-tangy will be good for the palate.

My liver terrine tasted very fresh in the mouth. The terrine is quite light and covered with the herb jelly which gives an interesting flavour to the liver paste. Together with the sliced pickle, spreading them on the freshly toasted brioche is very appetizing.

The brioche is super deliciouso! Too bad they gave out such a petite portion. I asked for a second serving of the brioche and got only 3 more small slices haha.

The grainfed bavette. Flavour: Very rich! A bit chewy on the edges but the cook preserves the juice in the middle part. Those who are very much into "beefy" flavour gotta love this cut. I love the smoky flavour that comes with the steak.

Originally not a big fan of lamb (Chinese people believes in its "heaty" effect on our body, hence not too good for our health), but the ratatouille piqued my interest

Seeing the fat portion, I'll automatically remove that part off before hubby even have the chance to taste a bit of it haha. The meat's texture is very tender and flavorsome. I like slow-cooked meat because it gives the meat to absorb all the healthy broth and heavenly taste. The aroma is also very nice.

The dessert that I forgot. By this time I was 90% full and hubby was the one finishing everything left on our table. The presentation is very nice though.

But I did have some of this lemon tart. Something sour after something rich is always nice.

By the time we finished our 3 course plates, the restaurant was nearly empty and the staffs were preparing for dinner time. We'll definitely come back for another leisurely weekend lunch. Another beautiful memory as husband and wife successfully created <3

Note: The restaurant is quite packed on weekend, so reservation is a must to prevent last minute plan change for you and dearest loved ones :)
